What started as a pet project to make an incredible drum key, turned into making tokens of appreciation for the musicians, educators, and entertainers that were helping to expose folks to the wonderful world that is drumming. Our keys are amazing tools, but it’s the act of giving them to amazing people that has spawned this whole journey. The world needs more drummers! Our hopes in selling, and gifting our keys for fundraising, is to help promote and expose more people (especially the kids) to the Drums.

Why Anubis? He is the ancient deity known for guiding souls into the afterlife. One of his roles was to weigh the heart of the passer against a single feather of Ma’at to determine their fate. This underlying theme of balance is critical in the ancient beliefs. Thoth enlisted the help of Anubis and his wisdom when repairing the eye of Horus after his infamous battle. And often he is depicted holding the key of life representing the connection between the physical world and the afterlife. The Anubis Mk-ii tries to embody the same balance, precision, and character as the ancient deity himself.
